Help prevent future injuries

Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

Round out your retreat experience with personalised physical therapy

A hands-on treatment that’s non-invasive, physio incorporates a range of movement and exercise therapy to treat the root cause of the problem, as opposed to just the symptom. Typically used to support rehabilitation following an injury, physiotherapy can also restore muscle in-balance, ease chronic pain, improve coordination and even reduce inflammation. Everything from tendonitis to tension headaches can be managed. In his own words, our Uluwatu-based physio Alister says, “I believe that we as physios have an incredible opportunity to provide patients with answers.” His personalized approach fuses strength and conditioning advice with postural assessments and self-management techniques to help prevent future injuries.

Hawaiian spiritual practice

Hypnotherapy

This Hawaiian spiritual practice has found a home here in Uluwatu

Our subconscious determines a staggering 95% of our behavior and decision-making. Which is precisely why hypnotherapy – a guided relaxation technique which works to awaken the subconscious mind – can be so profoundly healing. By tapping into the part of the brain that controls your thoughts, memories and perceptions, it can help you break unhealthy habits (like smoking or overeating), treat phobias, manage pain and alleviate anxiety. A Kurd Swede and keen surfer who’s called Bali home for a decade, certified Hypnotherapist and EFT therapist Gule also practices Ho'oponopono: a centuries-old Hawaiian spiritual practice.

Promote a deeper mind-body connection

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

Help break unhealthy habits that are holding you back

This therapy is proof that (healing) power really is at our fingertips. A form of psychological acupressure that’s simple and painless, EFT employs gentle finger tapping to stimulate energy points on the face and body to release blockages. And even better, it doesn’t require invasive needles. The powerful stress relief technique has a host of healing powers; from reducing cravings and easing joint pain, to relieving migraines and even managing severe PTSD. Typically combined with the voicing of positive affirmations, EFT can also be used with specific emotional intent to promote a deeper mind-body connection. Gule can combine the therapy with hypnotherapy if desired.

Sharpen memory and reduce depression

Qigong and Quantum Flow

Feel present and build inner vitality with these healing lessons

Pronounced “chee-gong,” this calmative Chinese philosophy and medicine has been in existence for millennia. Following the pathways of the energy meridians, the grounding practice’s signature slow and sequenced standing movements are coupled with coordinated breath to restore your chi. A panacea for mind and body, Qigong can support our respiratory health, lower cholesterol, sharpen memory and reduce depression. Lessons are led by Barcelona-born and now Bali-based Jordi, who also teaches Quantum Flow. An alchemy of ancient wisdom and cutting-edge science, this healing modality works to discharge stuck energy on a cellular level. Participants can expect an amalgam of intense core movements, resistance training, breathwork and sound vibrations in each class.

Improve cardiovascular health

Meditation

Hone the art of connecting the body to the breath with a class or retreat

Nearly every religion has a tradition of using meditative practices. This mind-body practice – which can counter stress, improve cardiovascular health, ease fatigue and awaken your spiritual self – is about training in awareness and attention. Many meditation techniques exist: from using a mantra to focus on your breath to nature-based visualization. What unites them is bringing yourself back to the present moment over and over again, to achieve a sense of inner calm and balance even in the midst of chaos and distraction. We host complimentary silent meditation sessions every evening from our shala, or why not try a private guided class taught by Gule and Johanna.
