Nourishing your mental and physical health starts from the inside out. Which is why The Asa Maia’s conscious cuisine packs both a flavor and nutritional punch…
Primarily organic ingredients
Healthful Eating
Our restaurant serves sustainable fare that’s good for you and the planet
Clean eating habits don’t happen overnight. But that’s not to say they can’t begin right here in Uluwatu! The Asa Maia’s gut-friendly, seasonally-inspired menu incorporates vegan, pescatarian and vegetarian dishes with a nod to our Indonesian roots. For the sake of both our guests’ and the planet’s health, we champion primarily organic ingredients. Free from GMOs and antibiotics, synthetic fertilizers and chemical additives, organic produce is not only better for you, but it supports local suppliers and carries a smaller carbon footprint as well. Loaded with healthy fats like omega-3-fatty-acids, immune-boosting antioxidants and micronutrients, its nutritional advantage over non-organic alternatives speaks for itself.

Superfoods’ Superpowers
Let food be your medicine for breakfast, lunch and dinner
Designed to supercharge your mental and physical health, superfoods like spirulina and turmeric make their way into everything from the smoothie bowls to the sodas served in our restaurant. The ultimate plant-based source of fatty acids, chia supports the gut, whilst flavonoid-packed cacao boosts your metabolic health. It also claims 40 times more antioxidant potency than blueberries! Dubbed the “beauty berry,” acai is another one of our favorite superfoods, praised for its miracle effect on skin and hair. Our kitchen also uses maca: a nutty-tasting, vegan protein nicknamed “the lost crop of the Incas” and ashwagandha: an ancient medicinal herb. Both are types of adaptogens, which help regulate the body’s response to stress.
Native Ingredients
Keeping it Local
Fresh fish, organic fruits, Bali-grown vegetables and hotel-harvested herbs
As well as limiting single-use plastic in our food supply chain, we are committed to making it more traceable, which is why The Asa Maia’s culinary team sources the majority of produce from local, trusted suppliers. Our fruits and vegetables are 100% organic and island-grown, and native ingredients like sugarcane, organic red rice, cashews, galangal, acai and rosella infuse our menu. Never farmed and always fresh, fish is wild-caught from the sapphire-blue waters around Jimbaran aka Bali’s famous cliff-wrapped fishing town where you can go from beach to seafood grill in minutes. Closer to home, we have a heaven-scented onsite garden, lovingly tended to by multi-generation farmer Mega, who grows lemongrass, aloe vera, turmeric and chili.
